Another interesting set, very enjoyable and strong on the composition. Perhaps not quite grabbing me as much as your other recent posts but all well seen and executed as ever.
Wish my out put was so consistent.

I'll happily take a set of six Pentax mugs!
Will PU be doing a full review of the mugs?!
We'll want to know about any decentering issues. I can't see any contacts so assume it is a purely manual mug. The weight and balance, is it good to handle?
I don't think it's a zoom so you'll probably have to move it back and forward with your arm, or in extreme cases use your legs

That does look like great fun. I also particularly like the action shots.

Thank you for the positive feedback. I was rather pleased with myself when on arrival I realising how comfortable these Puffins are in the company of humans that on a whim I'd brought my fisheye along, I was not expecting to get this up close and personal

Great catalogue of the day on the island Nigel - nice to see you back mate

I've not been absent! Just making photographs that possible aren't something that would catch your eye Daronl. I had the luxury of 3 days and 3 nights on Skomer island.

Some lovely work with the light in these.
7, 8 and 9 almost the same shot, shorter exposures as we head from 7 to 9? My pick of the 3 images is No. 8, No 7 has a lovely colour and hue running through the whole image but I rather prefer the contrast provided in No. 8 both in the colours and in the sea movement which has a bit more life to it than 7 and contrast between the white water and the deeper water.
Also really like the two studies No.2 and 12 which grabs me particularly, the light and detail of the rock with the blue, green and aqua and white of the sea in the centre like a precious stone found within the rock, perfectly judge exposure length for my taste.
I have seen a few photographs of these rocks before but that in no way reduces the quality of what you've shown us here.

I had a lovely stay on Skomer Island. I don't do a lot of nature photography but, who can resist Puffins?!
I used my Sigma 150mm -500mm
Pentax HD 55mm -300mm
Pentax 16mm - 85mm
and my Samyang 8mm fisheye
I think the image quality was superior from the Pentax 55-300mm over the Sigma, sharper, more contrast, more pleasing images. I'm sure I'd love the Pentax 150mm-450mm but don't feel I can justify it for the amount I'd use it.
I was a bit disappointed with the 85mm end of my 16-85mm, I've been quite happy up until this trip however, it's the fist time I've used it for nature photography, still very happy with it in the middle and wide part of its range.
The Fisheye well, it should be every nature photographers first choice!

Thank you all for your comments and taking the time to mention specific shots and preferences, always interesting to hear what others think of and how they read ones photographs. Very much in my mind when I was taking these was "Skomer Impressions" or "Impressions of Skomer" keeping it simple, grounded and trying to avoid blinging things up.
Cheers Derek
Steve it makes sense.
LennyBloke as you may imagine I have have versions with the horizon all over the place but vaguely in the middle won it for me for this shot, it just fitted best.
Bill "Intriguing" I'll take that, thank you.
Pschlute I think I've captured some of the energy of the sea and the colours of where the land meets the sea in No.2
David, I'm delighted that you can identify with them from your own memories and feelings of Skomer.

The second version of No.1 for me also. The newest more natural fly being my favourite over all.
