Whilst like you Pipinmels I'm not bothered about the video abilities of my DSLR I think richandfleur has made good arguments.
A reviewer has to judge a product against others in the marketplace and if part or all of a camera is below the standard offered by other manufacturers well, that is a negative. How much emphasis a reviewer puts on this aspect well.....

"It's not good for your health to investigate these things too deeply."

Wise words softly spoken

So apart from all the aforementioned, are you pleased with your new convenience travel zoom?

I can see what you mean Wayward but sadly have no solution.
I used a newspaper with a black line on the margin to do a similar focus test. I soon realised that the focus of the zoom lens I was testing had a very variable bias back and forward of the focus point dependant on focal length and aperture. I quickly abandoned the idea of making in camera focus adjustments, it would have been pointless.
I wonder if newer bodies would give a better result or if is is all the lens. I think you need to buy a KP to find out.

A good set. The Lincolnshire coast was much the same (well the weather) on my visit on the 11th Oct.
My personal fav is No.2 the shapes of the grass tufts to my eye mirror the shapes of the cloud with that horizon cutting across at just the right level in relation to the content.

Certainly up to your usual high standard Bill. A cracking set indeed.
My personal favourites at first view are No. 2, with that lovely sweeping curve, embracing lens distortion of the buildings. No.3, Luck or judgement? You could not have timed your exposure with that bus any better and it all works so well together. Of what I perceive as your more standard city shots No.9 pips it to the top.
I would like a little explanation of what I'm looking at in No.8, never mind thin blue line this is a fat blue line and in No.4 what gives with the area of movement in an otherwise static scene? The combination of movement and static not quite working as well in this shot as in the others for me myself.
Technically the photographic quality of all of them looks amazing.

A very nicely observed set and if taken this month you are spoilt for choice for the monthly comp.

I'm sort of in the same position but not quite.
I also have 2 APS-C cameras a K5II and a K-S2
I also find myself using only one, the K-S2 with the K5 hardly ever getting picked up.
However I have no desire for the extra bulk and cost of having a 35mm equivalent camera. I'm therefore happy to have and consider buying more APSC-S lenses. The quality of image that can be produced from either size sensor is amazing.
If you want greater image quality you could invest in some better lenses for your existing cameras. Sell the K-S2 and buy the 16-85mm or the 20-40mm or the new 11-18mm or, or or...... all should be better than the 18-135mm by my reckoning, it's a handy lens with pleasing enough output but it's more about being small and handy for its range rather than being a great optic.

Enjoy your dilemma. You'll have great kit whatever
