I've got the Tokina and have found it to be a good lens. I haven't used it a huge amount but there are some example shots at http://www.pbase.com/niblue/mirror

The Sigma 70-300 APO is possibly the best cheap longish lens (excluding older MF stuff) - at the long end it needs stopped down a little to get really sharp results but I've been quite impressed with mine, especially given I paid less than £70 for it via Ebay.

I've seen good reviews of one of the Tamron equivalents as well.

Can't comment on the Sigma 28-200 - I had the Pentax one and that was pretty decent (as was the Tamron it was based on) but I don't recall the Sigma getting as good reviews.

I do indeed have one of the Porst 55mm F1.2's (see http://www.pbase.com/niblue/porst_55 for some example shots) which I like, however I think I paid about £30 or so for mine - no way would I pay 150 Euros for one.

I haven't had any problem accurarely focusing it with the DS or K10D and I mostly use mine wide open.

Thanks for the judging Steve - I'm very happy with 3rd place and looking forward to seeing what McBrian has in store for us this week.

Th CZJ 135mm F3.5 is a very good lens however paying that sort of cash for one in that condition is stupid as I've seen them go in mint conditon for around £60 or so.

Some exceptionally good entries already this week
Definitely looks like there is going to be a bumper crop of quality entries for the judge this week.

I bought a Epson 4490 (which isn't an expensive scanner) primarily to scan some medium format stuff however I've been quite impressed with the results with 35mm as well - it's certainly considerably better than my 10 year old dedicated film scanner.
