Yeah, seen that thanks. I've done 3 versions of #6, the "DIY Ghetto Flash Extender" in the last month and made version 4 last night. Which is the old #2 at a flatter angle, neccessary because my bracket broke. It's actually nicer to use than the bracket version because the diffuser doesn't get in the way as much. The top post looks nice but the shadows would be much too harsh for my needs, mine's about 30cm wide.

Handy, found this googling, looking to make a 4th version tonight for extreme macro use. I wish the 360 tilted down a bit more though

It all sure sounds exciting. But I'm surprised at the lack of firm roadmap information from Ricoh. I'd hope that comes out on the actual purchase day. It would do a lot to set DSLR owners minds at rest.

Priceless well played

K-x has focus confirm, the green hex. It doesn't have focus point indicate, the red rectangles.

If anything I'd hope for the opposite. A K-5 with more processing power and maybe some incremental AF improvement. More geared towards sports. Probably unlikely though, I think it's the entry-level model that's due isn't it?

With Oct 1st being the ownership change date, it doesn't seem too far fetched to suspect a new body timed to catch the consumer Christmas spending round.

Surely killing the Q on IQ is kinda like slamming a Lambo because it's not ecologically sound. I vaguely doubt that Q buyers are the type to worry about crops or indulge in pixel peeping? I don't really need one, but strikes me that surely the point of the Q isn't IQ, it's size.

Reasonable snapshot performance in a tiny size with changable lenses. Not my thing, but maybe relevant for others. And at least it's got something unique about it rather than being yet another compact.

Useful info, thanks. It'd be interesting to know what % of DSLR sales go to (primarily) English-speaking countries. Anyone have a handle on this stat?

K-9 obviously has particular cultural resonance in the UK because of Dr. Who, but in the US? I could see endless 'the new Pentax is a real dog' comments though.

1) Always better to divide the mod work up between several so things don't get personalized like they have here
2) Never start slagging off mods on your own Flickr stream
3) This is ugly. No reputations have been enhanced in this thread
4) Good that you both walked away

Wow, that's even worse than stacking cheap cokin lenses. What brand were these so I know what to avoid?! Nothing you could have done about it.

Lee, B&W or Singh-Ray produce the finest filters, but they're all extremely expensive, and with Lee there's a massive waiting list.
