thanks Giorgio.

I must be missing something - is the camera data held in more than one place? When I open up the file in AnalogExif it's showing Camera Manufacturer as PENTAX - see screen shot.Comment Image

Yet when i uploaded it here it's lost the camera information...

what exif editor are you using? I've tried a few which let me edit certain exif fields but none that i've tried let me change/edit the camera model.

Out of interest the picture I'm trying to edit is this - link. Which the on here shows camera make as blank but on my PC shows as Pentax (K20D).

Thanks. I've already bought my K-5 (on here). This one just popped up in an eBay search I forgot to cancel.

what's the eyecup on this secondhand K-5 for sale on ebay just now?

is that an 'add-on' or standard in Japan?

Thanks guys - I may give one of the £40 copies a try until I see a s/h Pentax one at a reasonable price.

I'm looking for a D-BG4 grip for my newly acquired K-5. I would like a genuine Pentax model but the copies on ebay from just £40+ are very tempting. Previous posts suggested the main difference was lack of weather proofing. Has anyone experience of using both and could tell me why I should resist and hold out for a decent s/h version of the real thing?

i downloaded the pdf version of my K-5 manual to my Kindle - much easier to read and as i usually have it with me most of the time very handy...

you should do a search on YouTube for laser and DSLR to see what damage can be done

I've one photograph that the Pentax Photo Gallery rejects as (they say) it wasn't taken with a Pentax Camera. Yet examining the Exif data it clearly shows a Pentax K20D. Any way around this??

Wow, thanks guys - such speedy responses. Appreciated. Lots of food for thought.

I'm glad some of you agree they're a little dark but as I say I had got used to 'sorting' that in Lightroom. I agree the Powershot shots are not perfect but I was initially impressed with them...

John - I'll have a look at linking exposure lock to the AF point - I hadn't initially understood how that worked but having re-read the manual I can see that might help.

Bill - whilst I do calibrate my monitor (Spyder3) I don't see all 16 shades below which would suggest my monitor is too bright. Taking brightness to 0 on my monitor I still can't differentiate between the extreme left hand 4 or 5 squares. I'll try a re-calibration but would darkening my screen further not worsen the problem with shots?

Thanks again everyone...

PS - posted above after reading up to reply 4 Still little jet lagged after our return so off to bed now and will digest other replies tomorrow when head is clearer!
