You can edit exit data with an exif editor and input the camera make and model again. That is what I do for scanned images and it works with ppg.
Depending on what computer operating system you use there are different free editors you can download.

what exif editor are you using? I've tried a few which let me edit certain exif fields but none that i've tried let me change/edit the camera model.
Out of interest the picture I'm trying to edit is this - link. Which the on here shows camera make as blank but on my PC shows as Pentax (K20D).

I used AnalogExif, which lets you work with JPEG and TIFF files.

thanks Giorgio.
I must be missing something - is the camera data held in more than one place? When I open up the file in AnalogExif it's showing Camera Manufacturer as PENTAX - see screen shot.
Yet when i uploaded it here it's lost the camera information...

I do not understand either. Is this data form the file you exported and then tried to load to PPG?

quick update. I 'changed' the Camera Manufacturer and Model with Pentax and Pentax K20D using AnalogExif and then uploaded to PPG. Photo was accepted this time. To look at the Exif data before and after looks exactly the same. I can't recall what processing I did with the photo but maybe it added some extra unseen characters??
