For me too - in the 1980s my parents from their home in Yorkshire holidayed in Arnside several times, and I would travel from Hertfordshire to spend a few days with them there.

Old advice from when everything was manual might still be relevant here:- if you have trouble getting your egg started, pull the yolk out, then it'll be all white.

Sorry I'm not sure about the shiny metallic object, but the rest of the image is very attractive. The HD 35 Ltd is a good match for the KP, a great standard prime made more versatile by its close focusing capability.

Number 9 showing the moor is top of the set for me. The foreground interest of the path and gateway, the lake in the middle distance, the seemingly endless wilderness of the hills in the distance, the wonderful cloud formation in the blue sky, and the differential sun-lighting of the scene. Great shot, thank you.

Anyone noticed something about the lenses offered with the K-70?

The opening post seems to imply an interest in only wide aperture lenses. Otherwise perhaps consider the more versatile focal lengths (for house and garden) of the HD Pentax-DA 18-50mm F4-5.6 - the enhanced kit lens - compact and lightweight, fast accurate focus, and respectable image quality. Or, for a bit more cash, the SMC Pentax-DA 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 - a great all purpose zoom.

I'm enjoying the detail of the stacked flower.

[On a different aspect, by a graduated brightening I would make a bit more visible the parts of the plant around where the flower is attached.]

She might be more amenable if you can get it cheaper without the Borrowers.
