When we were picking a wedding photographer for our wedding, one of my main requirements was that I must not look at his/her portfolio and feel like I could have done as well or better. We did rule out several of the cheaper options on these grounds. We also found several whose work made me go "wow", and it was one of those we went with.

As in any industry, there are good wedding photographers, and not so good wedding photographers (many of whom are actually amateurs who thought "I can do that!")

I love taking photographs at weddings, I do NOT like being the wedding photographer, I've done it twice and I will only do it when the alternative is no official photographer at all.

one could in fact argue that it was everyone else who was incompatible with IT

if I ever win the lottery, the first person outside my family to know about it will be Chris at SRS, when I phone him up to order a full set of Limiteds and DA*s.

thanks John, my wording was unclear, let me try again:

The film is rated at 200ISO. The camera is calibrated for 100 or 400 and has no exposure compensation.

given that it is colour negative film, am I correct in assuming that it will perform better overexposed by one stop by setting the camera to 100, than it will under exposed by one stop by setting the camera to 400?

that's what I'm talking about John, all modern carts are rated at 100, so the choice is whether you file the tab off the end to get 400 or not.

can't really be re-invented with current tech, but I miss mechanical backup at 1/125th

what speed do you rate it at in the Auto110 Dave?

Its been a while since I shot much film, but 200ISO and its colour negative film so I'm guessing it's better to overexpose by one stop than underexpose?

That will be because it's in Ricoh K mount, the pin allows it to work in Program mode with the Ricoh SLRs of the day. It's equivalent to the A setting on a Pentax lens, although I don't know if it's functionally compatible or not, I suspect not.
