I also have a smartphone, which I could use as a logger, but tbh the transferring of the data from the phone to the cloud (when travelling) to my computer to the pictures is just too much hassle for me, especially after a long trip when there are hundreds of photos to sort through and tag and process.
I just transfer the GPX file9s) from the phone via USB and Lightroom tags them automatically.
how does Lightroom know which photos were taken where?

amazing shot, well done!

Poor Tiger though, he's obviously pretty upset about loosing his mate

Both taken with my 18-135 and I have a nice 21'x12' print of the second one.
What, 21 feet by 12 feet? That's larger than most hordings in the high street! Wow! Where do you keep it?

When the gates at Hampton Court were repaired a couple of years ago they were temporarily replaced with a wooden door onto which a print of a photograph of the real gates was printed. Can't have been far off that size.

That pic was taken with a 12-24 on a K10D though.

you can sharpen it in raw and that not a bad thing, but I would wait till the end of the post processing for the best results, I find that the image is a lot better when you sharpen it at the very end and in Jpeg just for printing or showing on a web site or internet

thank you for taking the time to look and comment
I am by no means an expert, but I believe the received wisdom is that you should sharpen differently for print vs screen consumption. This fits in with your recommendation to sharpen at the end, since then you can easily make several versions sharpened as you wish for the various ways you might use the image.

As to what the differences are between required sharpening for print and screen I'm afraid that's beyond my meagre knowledge

I'm very fond of RawTherapee, the price (free!) is obviously attractive and the batch processing features really suit my somewhat aging hardware.

Editing wise I always use GIMP, in my opinion it's the best editor available for under £100, and it's free.

I have one of these, doesn't get much use these days because I have an FA 1.4 and am fundamentally lazy, but it is a lovely lens.

if you can't go somewhere new, look at somewhere old from a new angle, get up higher or down lower than usual. You might spot something new.

yes but not everything can be as gorgeous as an F series zoom

in certain respects (ie, high optical quality and very compact), the F35-70 fits in with the Ltds very well indeed

amazing detail, what lens did you use? (not wishing to take away from the skill involved of course!)
