In the past couple of weeks I have picked up an 80-200mm MF lens and a SMC Pentax FA 28-70mm. The prices? £8 and £10 respectively. I love the Pentax K mount!!!!!

Lomography.com has been selling REFURBISHED Zenit E's for £159.00 The whole Lomo thing has been very commercialised. They are selling Lubitel 166's for $349, anyone who pays that sort of money for a camera like that is a mug imo.

Is it me...or is the whole Lomography movement a crock eh? Have you SEEN the prices people want for stuff on E bay, they charge inflated prices by sticking 'lomography camera' in front of the item for sale.

Well, apparently they are!
Look. ANY photographer worth their salt can use very basic equipment and STILL get results. If you can't do that, then you ain't a photographer are you? Just an equipment junkie. Your equipment, whether it be humble or cutting edge, allows you to translate your personal vision into a final image. Yes, I do use decent DSLR's. And yes, I will admit, I find PENTAX equipment to be robust, user friendly, and more than a match for their conunterparts.
Funnily enough, I found Zenits to be decent cameras. It's not the gear; it's the chap (or chapette) behind it.

Picked up an Agfa Isola II yesterday...
£10. In lovely condition, full working order. I bought 2 rolls of FP4 today. I am gonna have FUN. You know, like we USED to have as photographers!!!!

Ridiculous is the word. I have seen one for sale on Ebay for £267.00 !!!!!!!!!!! I mean come on. Good tip about having a look at Ludlow - only a short drive from where I live. I wish someone could tell me WHY Russian gear is suddenly so desirable.

This underscores the importance (for me) of ALWAYS keeping a filter and cap on your lens EVERY SECOND the camera is not in use. It's a no-brainer.
