For that shot I would have used f8 or f11, focussed on the nearest building on the left hand shoreline (which is a pub or hotel IIRC),
why? because it is on 1/3? because not recommended to focus on the water? Both?
PS:thanks I have contacted that seller

Hello,
I'd been looking around for a silver FA77mm F1.8 ltd but most shops seem to be approx £780 plus so I was most surprised to see Amazon uk selling it at £640 including delivery. Anyway it arrived today and was indeed silver. Lets hope it lives up to it's reputation.
Regards

A while ago I was fortunate for someone to lend me a 1.4 TC to try with my Pentax 55-300 (the best consumer zoom available in Pentax mount imho), it was the "legendary" Tamron 1.4 PZ AF.
After quite a few tests I quickly decided that a TC wasn't a good idea - image sharpness was noticeably affected at 240mm+ but even more significant was the loss of light and it's effect on autofocus performance. Personally I think TC use is best limited to faster glass

What if I cannot afford a Bigma? any other possibilties in between them?

FOr example, what about this?
1-Do I need reduced aperture to increase the DOF and so to have the most on focus?
2-on which point shall I focus?
thanks, I promise this is the last question

Thanks for the advice but I had ordered them already, except for the ND actually,
I quite agree with your idea but as some people (not all but quite a few) after the Cokin bought the Formatt or Lee as "unsatisfied" and so I did like an investment...not to having to spend twice.
I am still waiting for them...I will let you know

If a subject is near infinite then it's very easy to get it sharp so it's up to you to consider what else you want to have sharp as well.
Max you've the K20D it has a preview button
A lot of professional landscape photographers use large format view cameras so check the equipment he's using and allow for the fact you don't need quite as small an aperture to get the same effect.
Take three pictures of every scene, using different points of focus - one in front of centre, centre, and one behind.
You'll soon get a feel for what works.
Experimentation is the watchword.
Thank you
