I'm not too bothered as long as they stick to number one...

We have a bath that doubles as a shower. I just don't use it as a bath.

(Just One) Return to work, in order to fill my life again.

Been retired three and a half years approx, and hate it.

Take care.
You can have my job if I still get to have the salary. Trust me, I have plenty of non-work related ways to fill my life, being able to afford to retire would be a dream come true! In fact, my list would go something like this:

1) A Samsung Galaxy S2 (Just as good as an i-phone and I'm not a real i-stuff fan).

2) Anything involving a large quantity of chocolate (I need to lose weight).

3) Enough money/income to retire on. (Okay I'm only 40, or will be in just over a week, but I feel I've done quite enough tedious 9-5 grind to last me 10 lifetimes already).

Of course, we're just talking about the launch price here. Chances are it will come down. Until then the Tamron is likely to remain the better deal, unless build quality is your absolute #1 priority.

I don't think anyone would say that about humans Yet it seems acceptable to talk about birds like that
Not at all, I will happily say the same thing about humans. In our case, in fact, it's worse, because we should know better. Take the continent of Africa as an obvious example. Before we (the West) imported Catholic morality over there the existing native tribal cultures had various means of regulating their own population to levels the environment was capable of supporting. Us Westerners turned up and taught them all of these means without exception were bad and wrong and had to stop. Result - starving millions. Now we're trying to teach them to use condoms... apparently it's less bad and wrong than we had previously advised. Sorry guys for turning your lives into Hell on Earth, we were only trying to save you from our made-up Hell by creating the genuine article for you. Our bad.

As the RSPB themselves point out, there is zero evidence that the activities of cats have any impact on bird populations.

Considering we (humans) have long since eliminated or reduced to the point of virtual extinction most of the natural predators in our environment here in the UK, it is in fact entirely possible that cats are providing a valuable, even necessary service in this area.

Given the amount of birds that die of starvation each year there are arguably more of them around than the environment can comfortably support anyway.

I see no point in getting upset by seeing a cat killing a bird. Cats and birds occupy different places in the food chain, just as humans occupy a different place in the food chain compared to cows, pigs and chickens.

Also next time you see a cat killing a bird, bear in mind if it were not for human interference it would (indeed should) be a fox, wolf or bird of prey (among others) doing the same thing. Unfortunately since we have gotten rid of most of these predators through a combination of deliberate genocide, trophy hunting (I use the term purposely because these animals are/were not hunted for food) and simply destroying their environments, it ain't.

Don't have the Metz 58 yet, hence the question. But I'll let you know and probably post some shots when I get it (and if I get the dome diffuser thing). I'd heard this style of diffuser is growing quite popular among wedding photographers.
