Quailty item like this Tamron SP 300mm F2.8
Someone was probably watching that after spending months tracking
it down and you've just killed off any hope they had of getting
a bargain.
People don't sell items on eBay in order to give somebody a bargain, they sell them to get the highest price possible, and if they have any sense they'll post links to their auction anywhere and everywhere they can get away with it, so I really don't understand that part of your objection at all.

If people did less collecting and more photography with just what they need then the poorer of us might be able to buy up some of the spare gear!
I have all I need in three lenses BUT would like to get a nice 1:1 macro from Santa!

Quite windy today. Don't know if anyone else noticed?

Tamron 17-50mm F/2.8 - After reading a whole lot of reviews of the Pentax and Sigma standard alternatives I think I'll stick with the Tamron. It really does seem to be the best of the three, optically speaking. Shame it lacks SDM/HSM, weather sealing and quick-shift focus though. Oh well, can't have everything.
Pentax DA 55-300mm F/4-5.8 - Okay if you're out specifically looking to shoot wildlife you might want a longer or faster lens that's quicker to focus, but for those opportunities which crop up unexpectedly you can't beat having this in your kit bag at all times. It's just a phenomenally good telephoto lens for its remarkably compact size and weight.
Sigma 8-16mm F/4.5-5.6 - A lot of people will prefer a 10-20 or 12-24 over this lens, but I really like the 8-16. To be honest, I am a fan of extremes and you can't get wider than the 8mm end of this lens. Besides, I've taken enough keepers at the wider end of this lens now to know it's actually a worthwhile focal length and not just a gimmick.
Pentax DFA 100mm Macro F/2.8 WR - Next on my 'to buy' list. A 100mm macro is simply de rigueur for insect shots and the like these days, and the weather sealing is a nice bonus which is bound to come in handy from time to time.
Pentax DA 70mm F/2.4 - For portraits. Considered the FA 77 for this purpose as well but actually I think I prefer the size and focal length of the 70, and I'm not convinced I need F/1.8.
Pentax DA 18-135 F/3.5-5.6 WR - Not a high priority right now but it would be really useful to have a versatile, weather sealed zoom that I can put on the camera and leave there when the weather is bad. It would get me out and about on rainy days, at the moment I tend to just stay in. Thought about getting the 18-55 WR for the meantime as it can be picked up for as little as £50ish second hand, but I would only end up getting rid of it again when I could afford the 18-135.
Pentax DA 10-17 mm F/3.5-4.5 Fisheye - Just for fun and creativity - what more needs to be said?
Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 - I find the focal range on my FA 28-70 F/4 really useful for certain situations, like parties and street shots, but would really like something in that range with a wider aperture.
Tamron 70-200mm F/2.8 - The 55-300 covers this focal range and more, but sometimes you just want that wider aperture and hopefully slightly faster focusing too.
Pentax DA 35mm F/2.8 Limited Macro - I can't say I have a specific use in mind for this, but it's just a really nice lens and sometimes you want a closer working distance to certain macro subjects than you'll get with 100mm.
Pentax-DA* 300mm F/4 - For when 200mm isn't long enough and F/5.8 isn't fast enough...
Sigma 10-20mm F/3.5 - Yes I'm happy with my 8-16 as stated above, but there are times when the wider aperture would be very useful - mostly for indoors situations with less than idea lighting.
Pentax D FA 50mm F/2.8 Macro - I already have a 100mm and 35mm macro on the list so it seems reasonable to have something intbetween - but more to the point, this one has a manual aperture ring so I could play around with extension tubes.
Pentax-FA* 250-600mm F/5.6 - C'mon - does there really need to be a reason for this one? Just because!
I could go on (who couldn't?) but to be honest I've probably reached the limit of lenses that I would actually use. Any more would probably just sit around gathering dust which would be a waste.

The use of a TARDIS of course solves every single one of the problems mentioned above. Santa can use its time-travelling capabilities so he can make his round in as leisurely a fashion as he sees fit. In fact, it's quite possible that when visiting each address he does several time hops without travelling in space, enabling him to deliver several years worth of christmas presents to each address in one go.
The spacial properties of the TARDIS naturally solve all of the weight and volume problems associated with Santa's mammoth load. In effect, he has access to unlimited storage space.
I'd have thought all of this was obvious, really. Ho ho ho.
