I have one and I love it. I only bought it about two months ago but it's a lovely wide angle on my film bodies and a useful medium wide on my K20. I loved the 35mm lens on film bodies so this feels like an old friend to me on digital. It is sharp fast and "contrasty" for want of a better word. I haven't done a side by side comparison with my pentax lenses for colour rendition but I haven't noticed a glaring difference on anything so far.
Well worth the £40ish they go for.

Given the recent Police behaviour I would suggest it is prudent to photograph any officer you have dealings with. It has been common prasctise for riot police to exchange badge numbers and take other measures to avoid identification. I grant that it is unlikely to encounter this behaviour with the local bobby but " what have they got to hide?" ( sound familiar? )
As you can probably tell I have already lost all trust in the Police as an institution. That is the real shame of the situation.
As for some unidentified person forcibly detaining you without due cause, they are leaving themselves open to charges of assault and false imprisonment. You are also entitled to use reasonable force to defend yourself, should you feel it necessary! However if you are approached by unidentified antagonists I would suggest calling the police first and have them checked out!

Well if they've damaged the lens that's a different story. I'd speak to the customer service manager before sending anything else and ask how he's going to resolve this!

Actually I don't think it's unreasonable given it's the second time you've sent it back. If they have your body they can match the focus to the body. It's quite possible the lens is "in spec" but it's at the other end of the spec to your camera body, effectively doubling the error. If you do send the body , enclose a note that all your other lenses match this body and can the adjust the lens (not the body!) to match the camera. It should be a fairly fast turnaround.

Thre is always the question....Is this the other camera Pentax said would be out before the end of the year?

I can't help agreeing with Darkmunk though. if the curve of the brigde finished smack in the middle of the bottom left corner it would have made it for me. Any detail under the bridge could just have been buried in black...

I think most of it is currency related. Last year £1 got you 245Yen now it's about 145Yen. That's a big hit. I think the Yen is artificially high at the moment as most other currencies are slowly creeping back towards where they were a year ago. I think the Yen will have to come down with a bump soon. Not that it helps us, and ,historically, when prices go up they usually stay up! Especially if stock has been bought at the higher prices.
