I still have stock of most lenses and all flashguns at the 'old' prices, although they are selling very quickly. The prices that Nathan has mentioned will be the new prices when the old stock has run out..

Chris!
you're not supposed to be in the office today!!!!!!
I forgot to mention what you just wrote, so pentaxians, go and get your LBA fix before its too late....
Also, the 31mm is going up from £699 to £1133 - that is astonishing...
I suddenly became much richer, but I really struggle with the idea that Pentax will compete in the market with these prices.
OR is everything else going up as well? What are nikon and canon doing? and Sony and Olympus?
Very big decisions are going to have to be made in the future, and also second hand sales will increase a load...

I was gobsmacked to see the new price of the 50-135
I'm even more stunned to see the crazy price of the 50/1.4 and 10-17
What on earth is going on here? It's not exchange rate fluctuations, is it??
I only wish my salary had gone up by a similar proportion
...at this rate I'll be here less and less (to save the temptation for LBA!)

I am quite happy, having recently bought the 50-135, and actually not feeling any need for new lenses, apart from maybe a longish prime.
I must say that if you are going to try and build a new kit, this is going to be problematic. The 50 f1.4 that has always been the great cheap alternative, is now not cheap at all.
And no, there is no salary increase on the horizon...
I am getting married though, and the K7 is getting closer....

I don't know about Canon stuff, but Nikon stuff has had a couple of hefty price rises since Christmas.
Some of the Pentax rises seem ridiculous though, even more of a percentage hike than the Nikon stuff I've been watching. £540 for the AF540 flash? I know it's good, but really...

Chris, please can you hurry up and sell your Tamron 70-300s on eBay so I've got a chance of a decent price for mine!

Bugger!
Well thats what happens from me sitting on the fence, now I will have to remove the splinters from my a*%e !
Seriously though part of the reason I brought into Pentax was mainly due to the competitive pricing secondly the in-body shake reduction and finally individuality. With lenses at this price though the 1st one is out the window and the second one can be brought in the lens on other systems.
This is an excessive increase though and disproportional to the current climate. Other manufactures are reporting record DSLR sales against downturns everywhere else. What is the justification?
If the other manufactures do not move their price points it may be worth considering that D300 further and I can sell my Pentax kit in 6 months for profit

Unfortunately, I have been thinking about this as well.
If until now selling all my gear would have made about £2000 - and with that I couldn't even afford the only camera i'd buy into (D700) with one lens.
- with these increases one could expect to re-sell at much much higher prices.
I would imagine a large profit on a 1 year old 'as New' lens. Perhaps now I'd be able to afford a D700 with 24-70 70-200 and a flash...
Yeah right... !!!!

I was contemplating a return to Pentax and running with two systems, Pentax for the studio (really miss Pentax colours for portraits) and the P gallery Nikon for events etc, but with these prices that's now not an option
Anybody got a spare Fuji S5
