Question:

If you can set all A and newer lenses to A on the lens, and set the aperture on the camera body (depending on camera) and see the information you want in the viewfinder or top plate, why would you want/need to set the aperture ring to anything other than A (other than habit) ?

My advice: Go for a K10D + 16-45 + 50-200 . . . now ! ! !

There will be occasions in the future when you will not want to tote around the bigger and heavier DA* lenses so the 16-45 + 50-200 will suit perfectly.

If not, ebay them.

There is (and always has been) a Remote Assistant software for the *istD.

It's worth installing even if you don't use Remote Assistant. It's not unheard of for Pentax to slip in the odd bug fix without telling us.

I found this one. Shipping is a bit expensive to Portugal at 45€ though.

I'm not sure I understand the problem. Do you have a new 50-200mm lens, or a new Tamron converter?

What is fitted to the camera?

Try this:

Move the bird to be equidistant between the red an blue objects, and lower. Then . . .

Lose (crop) some of the sky. If you can move the clouds down a bit to retain 'atmosphere', so much the better.

Oh, and I can see now that the 'chocolate muffin' is the underside of its left wing.

The birds in the wrong place, it needs to be over on the left, and I cant see any catchlights in its eyes!
And why is it carrying a chocolate muffin in its beak?

I agree, the bird is flying out of frame.

Why not the 31mm Limited. Truly awesome.

Mac,

Knew you'd get the digital bug sooner or later.

Why not look for a K10D with 16-45mm DA as a kit. It's usually a cheaper way of acquiring a better than average 'standard' zoom.

And y'know you'll get a K10D eventually . . .
