But surely I would have to make news like that up! Can only write about whats been happening.
You're right, of course. How about sending the 'Newsletter' out just a little closer to when the news is news though.

I did read somewhere that Pentax might have to change the meaning of SDM to 'Some Day, Maybe'. Let's hope that doesn't come true and the lenses really are ready for shipping.

Good luck with the new website. Keep it plain, simple, current, and to the point and you'll not go far wrong.

I just received a 'NewsLetter', it read more like a 'HistoryLetter'. Nothing much in it that we didn't already know. Much of the information it contained was news, about a month ago.

Come on Dan, send us some real news, like . . . "Pentax firmware engineers have fixed the exposure issues with manual lenses".

That would be real news.

What are the benefits (if there are any) to using the Aperture Ring with a Telephoto lens? Thanks
None really. Some of the die hard manual lens fans prefer to use the aperture ring out of habit/technique but it's just as easy to set it on the body. AT least if you use the body to set it, you'll get the aperture reading in the viewfinder instead of F---.

You need one Camera body + one lens + one Raynox adapter. Which lens are you using?

It doesn't really matter if AF works or not. AF is mostly a hinderance in macro work. You'd probably turn it off anyway and use manual focus.

Epoxy resin hasn't reached Scotland yet then Brian?

Bad luck though, I hope you can get it fixed easily/cheaply.

How long have you had it?
Did you buy it on credit card?
It could be insured by your card issuer. Just a thought.

Cheers,

PS: A 1 mtr high stool eh. Not a bar stool by any chance?

Repair, repair, repair. Send it back to where you bought it. Any modern electronic equipment ought to be designed to withstand an impact from 1 metre onto concrete. Clearly the AF360FGZ can't. Sue them for every penny . . . :lol

Pete,

Firstly, defuser is spelled diffuser.

Next, perhaps Gary Fong has a Contact us/me link.

Most of us use a Sto-Fen Omnibounce or a Lumiquest diffuser.

Go your own way if you must.

Cheers,

After all this,i'm sorry to say that i have left the Pentax fold, and joined another brand.
What an astonishing decision. There is no other camera system that provides as much backwards compatibility as Pentax.

I can only guess you fell victim to an apparantly knowledgeable sales person, or you are trying to live up to your signature statement.

Ignorance can be overcome . . . with knowledge . . . and you've got plenty of the latter here.
