What are the benefits (if there are any) to using the Aperture Ring with a Telephoto lens? Thanks
Can you be more specific as to which camera and which lens?

None really. Some of the die hard manual lens fans prefer to use the aperture ring out of habit/technique but it's just as easy to set it on the body. AT least if you use the body to set it, you'll get the aperture reading in the viewfinder instead of F---.

Presumably, with the K100D, as with the K10D, you need to use stop-down metering if the lens has no A setting, or if it does, but isn't set to it?
