my K110d and a R72 filter should allow me to play in the IR
Correct.

Your K200D might produce similar results but would require much longer exposure times.

By replacing the sensor's filter with plain glass, handheld IR is possible as the exposure times are dramatically shortened.

One more thought if you consider any of the MZ series of cameras, avoid any that have a model number ending in 0 (MZ-10, MZ-50, MZ-60 etc) because you'll not be able to use pre-A series lenses on them other than wide open. They have lens mounts commonly referred to as 'crippled K mount'.

This is a great tool for accurately setting white balance. If you go for it, don't make the same mistake I did by buying a small one. Buy the 77mm (it'll fit most lenses currently available) and use cheap step down rings for lenses with smaller than 77mm filter threads.
It's a good idea, but.....

You have to admire the nerve of people who can charge half the price of a camera for a piece of plastic. I'm sticking to my trusty piece of A4 paper.

But it does have an anodised aluminium mount and a tasteful blue nylon lanyard George, and a quick release clasp too.

My first PentaxSLR was a Super-A and I can highly recommend it. It has all of the exposure modes you'll need and TTL flash.

Possibly the closest in functionality to a Pentax DSLR is the MZ-6 as it does wireless flash and P-TTL with a AF360/540FGZ flash gun.

The MZ-S is a superb camera but it can't use any lenses that have no aperture ring as the aperture can't be set from the body. The MZ-6 can set the aperture from the body and so can use lenses like the FA-J series and newer DA lenses (with vignetting to some extent).

El Dingo,

Ebay = £99 + postage versus buying from SRS directly = £95 incl postage.

Still think ebayers get a better deal?

Thanks for that S Raff.

I think most companies (Asahi Photo and Harrow Technical at least) will replace light seals during a full service.

I have the wired (more expensive) version and it's great. I might even get one of the wireless ones too.
