Find out what the actual drive is inside the case. If it's a Seagate SATA drive, check out Seagate's Knowledge Base article.

I have two affected drives in a NAS box and they don't get turned off very often and therefore not likely to be an immediate problem for me.

Seagate say the data is still intact when this occurs and they will help resolve it.

I've emailed them twice for updated firmware, no answer as yet.

The image you've posted above looks like a highly magnified, highly compressed JPG image to me.

. . . and do my eyes deceive me or is that a KA lens with it?
It's a SMC Pentax-A 1:1.2 50mm Special, a metal bodied lens, a la Limited's, that shipped with this camera.

I find most of your images are underexposed Rob, this set in particular. I'm sure they are good quality images and I like the theme.

Perhaps the seller will buy a sensor cleaning kit with the proceeds. The sensor of the camera he took those images with is filthy.

Lovely bit of kit though.

Depending on the turnover of your wife's business, I doubt HMRC will take much notice to be honest.

Printers classified as 'photo' printers also have to be capable of more mundane tasks, like printing VAT returns etc.

Other than very expensive dedicated photo printers, a couple of hundred quid invested in a replacement printer isn't going to raise any eyebrows.

I have an ageing Epson R800 which I am very pleased with. If I ever replace it, it'll be with an A3 capable printer. My accountant will be told it's for printing foldable newsletters.

I love old aeroplanes, thanks for sharing these images.

I'm sure your dad would be happy to know that they've now got a wider audience.

As womble states, some could use a bit of exposure adjustment, but that's easily accomplished.

Excellent work on your dad's part, considering the grey and gloomy skies.

It's now down to you to grow the flame that he sparked in you. What better testament.

Go for it.

Find the option in the menu to permit the use of the aperture ring.

And then there are people who buy from forum members who join the forum just to sell something.

Feedback scores sometimes have no relevance.
