If you were happy with Epson this might be a good option Epson R800
Or else Canon ip4500 or ip4600 would be good enough maybe, it really depends on what you want and for what price?
Since you said Her business use is the primary function it makes it quite hard to know what you expect from it, at least for me.
The models I name come both with 2 kind of black inkt, one for photo and one for texts.

Her business use is the primary function means that it needs to be able to cope with my wife's needs - to satisfy the tax man!
But I would like one that has a good reputation, prints accurate colours with good registration and works with all, plain paper, CDs and photo paper.

Hi polchraine, look no further than Canon, I've seen prints from a friends printer (cant remember the model number) the results are A1, only problem is replacement ink isn't cheap.

I can recommend the Canon IP4500, it is quite cheap to buy (if you can still get that model) and produces great photos with realistic colours.
Don't let the price fool you, this is a good printer but there are a few others in the same lineup.
Others will have their favourites but the Canon line take some beating.

Ah okay that makes sense.
The Epson R800 is quite an oldy, it's almost 5 years old now but it still has some features you might like for printing real photos.
The Canon ip4500 & ip4600 have an auto duplex function so you can print on both sides.

I myself have an ip4500 and with the right colour profiles it prints good colours and because the drops are so fine the prints come close to printers with more colours but for real photos I think the Epson R800 would preform better. Don't get me wrong I'm happy with the ip4500, certainly because it has the duplex function for my school reports.
Just look at what you seem fit for you.
Like Cliff say the inkt isn't cheap but the ip4500 does quite long with his inkt I believe.

you can write off two printers.
Keep your photo printer and use it for photos, and business full color reports, brochures, etc.
use a cheap or old printer loaded for other tasks.

Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

Don - I know what you are saying. The intention is to keep the old Epson for documents &c and the new for photos - I am just making sure it is justifiable to HMRC. Her work does not justify a "photo printer"! and some of the items pushed through already are a little close to the mark - 48 port managed ethernet switch for example.

Depending on the turnover of your wife's business, I doubt HMRC will take much notice to be honest.
Printers classified as 'photo' printers also have to be capable of more mundane tasks, like printing VAT returns etc.
Other than very expensive dedicated photo printers, a couple of hundred quid invested in a replacement printer isn't going to raise any eyebrows.
I have an ageing Epson R800 which I am very pleased with. If I ever replace it, it'll be with an A3 capable printer. My accountant will be told it's for printing foldable newsletters.

Shim, which browser do you use - it is probably a failure of that to interpret the data correctly. To me it is fine and just 16 characters wide on 3 lines.

HP has some inexpensive printers that are very (VERY) good at printing pictures. Give a good look at the Photosmart series. You can evewn get a HP Photosmart B8550 (A3+) for what some A4 are selling for. I have one of those at works and it is pretty amazing for the price. It can even output panoramas 13 in. X 44 in. It has two blacks, but only one being used for pictures.

Just out of interest the problem appears with IE, Firefox and Chrome

My wife has just said "Buy a new colour printer - by Friday" as it is the end of her tax year on Saturday - a big saving over buying from taxed income.
It will be used for: Photos - to A4, Presentations, printing Letterheads and Compliments slips in bulk (then text is added from a laser printer). occasionally colour documents and maybe CDs. Her business use is the primary function, and photographs a secondary. She will not let me put photo paper through the company, unless it is for a business reason.
I don't want/need a multifunction scanner, copier, printer - just one to print and preferably with 5 colour and 1 or 2 black inks.
Any thoughts - brand and model.
