Thank you Stuart and Derek

What an interesting and imaginative set of images done in tricky lighting conditions. There's some good poses among them, Urban wildlife photography, perhaps a new category has been discovered.
I have the impression these are all very young cats, perhaps the life span of feral cats is very short.
Keep up the twilight world of photography Mags.

I believe the category already exists though it did not even cross my mind to place those in it! Thank you very much for the encouraging words, they mean a lot. Much appreciated.

Cheers Gareth. I could not decide weather to keep them or crop them out initially. But having looked at both side by side, I find the lights, as out of place as they are, give the scene some context though I may be completely wrong lol. I shall look again when I am less tired! Thank you

I would say for tight spaces I'd love a 24mm, however I mostly use the kit (28-105mm) or a 28mm prime on FF. Not a fan of ultra wide on streets though I have used it for better or worse effects. When travelling and for short walks, I like to do it light. Nowadays it's a single prime and 1 WR zoom. Depending on my mood and what I foresee photographing, I'll either grab the kit or 55-300mm. I am really looking forward to Pentax releasing a FF equivalent at some point. It's time I'd say.

Thank you very much everyone for your kind comments. They did look like they need some feeding. It gets better for street cats here after the summer when more people go for walks. Still a bit on the hot side atm. We went back yesterday with supplies On the other hand, you don't want to do it to often as they won't survive just counting on humans. Plenty of rats to go around.

Cheers!

Stopped to watch the moon rise few days back, which in in tself was rather underwhelming; ended up rolling in the dirt to snap few shots of this cute bunch. Mostly with the old FA 100mm macro at rather high iso as it was getting dark rather quickly. Bit more processing then I normally go through. Thoughts welcome

I have a selection of Panasonic and Sanyo Eneloops as well as Energizer RechargeŽ Power Plus AA and see little to no difference between the lot (all 1900 to 2400mAh). My Metz 52 does seem to recharge faster for longer on the Energizer ones but all the big brands are very dependable and suitable for the purpose. I use my flash several times per week, for hundreds of shots.

What ads you see is individual to you, if signed in to your browser, or the browser/device you use based on several factors: from search history to data mined from filling out forms. Say I have input my birth date to register on this forum. The algorithm behind the ads now knows I might be approaching menaupause and will bless me with remedies for it on any site that uses Adsense or similar to display ads. That is why I use ad blocks, always. It gets quite interesting when browsing public devices Easiest way to see it for yourself is browse Amazon for say, socks for couple of minutes. For whatever reason, you will see the bloody things for a week after, all over various adds. Surely if I bought socks I don't need to look at them all week. Google disagrees....Get a plugin for your browser and free yourself from most of it at least until someone figures out how to bypass it Their algorithms 'come' to the strangest conclusions at times.

Reason I did not mention the non real film option is because to me that takes the fun out of the challenge somewhat and serves more as an additional avenue to broaden the appeal of the competition. I will still stand by what I said - that it comes across as very straight forward. But, I am not an English native speaker so quite possibly my interpretation does not carry all that much weight Given the lively discussion, I do hope Stan will need at least 2 full evening to judge all the entries!
