That is brilliant news, well, at least for me. Saving up for the K3 II. At the moment just considering body only, but if the trend continuous, I'd be up for a 'kit' as well! Even on my sigma 10-20, 15-16 seems to be the sweet spot for me. Christmas can't come soon enough

I'll be going back to the Middle East for a month, mid September. Essentially going back to Kuwait which is like a second home, but planning a few days trip to the UAE as well. While I'm quite comfortable with the do's and don'ts considering photography in Kuwait; Dubai and Abu Dhabi, not so much. All i know is that it is much more restrictive. Web search does not seem to give you much solid current info other then a few unpleasant stories.

Was wondering if any of the forum members have any experience in the region and could offer some advice. Other than the obvious - not photographing people without their consent and certain restricted buildings and sights.

I'd be grateful for some insight if any of you would be willing to share your experience.

Thanks

Magdalena

I'm by no means an expert, but if you have the WR version of the kit, I'd take that. I find it's an awesome lens, way to often disregarded because it's 'kit'. Plus, it's WR. From your selection, I'd grab the kit and the 40 pancake if I wanted to go super light plus the 50-135 for that extra long end at times.

Just before my holidays I purchased Peak Design's camera clip and leash strap. I can't recommend the setup enough. Stick your heaviest lens on the body, clip it to your belt; with the leash strap to act as an extra tether and you won't feel the weight at all. Had two other lighter lenses in my handbag most of the time and was happily walking with all of it for hours at a time, including a hike in the mountains (backpack instead of a handbag obviously )

The man in the shadows - breathtaking. Easily the best photograph I have ever seen. If I was rich I'd happily pay a small fortune for it. Best of luck with your work.
Cheers

None of those JPEG processing functions slow down the cameras capture rate .....after the buffer is full there will be a delay, but this will only be after a good number of burst Images. The only delay with lens corrections etc is in the display of the processed result on the LCD ...it does not restrict the capture of the shots until the buffer Is full, therefore it should have no impact in single shot mode.

Does the camera shoot quickly in 'continuous' mode (the drive mode .... 4-way controller ?
Hmm, that's interesting. My K7 most definitely won't take a pic with CA on. I can press the shutter and nothing will happen. I just assumed it's how it works when it's potentially a camera issue?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00F2A5JX6?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_se... This is what I bought,. They last substantially longer than the original. Had no issues whatsoever. Have them for over a year now

On K7 the culprit was lens correction. Highlight/Shadows don't seem to affect the speed, in camera ca correction is.

Number 1 for me. Dreamy, painting like. Love the sun illuminating the fence. It has this Indian Summer tone to it Agree about the colors popping out a bit too much on others. Sometimes I truly hate the variety of color rendering in computer screens. Tough to pp unless one has a properly calibrated one.
