Thanks Peter, Cokin site takes a bit of digging around but got there in the end.
For anyone else interested in this subject, I found this helpful .pdf doc on just the Neutral Density Cokin Filters.

Lilly,

I think it does look better (although I can't see the first posted pic anymore). I like it. With loads of time at your hand you could have done a series showing how it unfolds
Concerning the single bug, it didn't bother me too much. Want to know why? Look here :

I have just learnt a salient lesson, do not remove original image (as I did!)from 'photobucket' it will not display anymore, have reinstated it now...

Magical poppy images Prieni, love them, I am with Gwyn love 1 & 4 best, do think your bugs were more picturesque than mine was tho' ....
You have inspired me to have another go at them before they fade away...

Very nice, Lilly!

The top is perhaps a bit hot but the colours are wonderful. I think poppies are addictive as a photographic subject as well...

Cheers,
Prieni
Thanks for the comments, yes I love poppies, got a bumper crop in my garden, TBH I didn't even notice the offending bug, now removed I have attempted to make it less hot at the top, does it look any better...?
I am always afraid to do too much PPing incase it looks over worked..
It was F/8, honest as metadata..!

: I have seen this mentioned in a book I have and I am interested in aquiring it or something similar. Main reason being the selection of photoframes that can be downloaded, apparantly, it is not available for sale anymore.
Has anyone any other suggestions where I could buy/download frames for some of my work, I like the old scratchy film negative edge effect especially.

I like No.1 and the very dynamic crop you have given it, mono can be tricky to give an edge to shots which I think these could do with to make them shine more.
I spend (probably an inordinate) amount of time on my mono work adjusting levels on the histogram, exposure adjusting and a final tweak of the unsharp mask.
BTW did you shoot RAW or were they jpegs?
