Battery grip

Silly question really, was wondering what if anything comes with it.

Specifically, does the retail package include a second battery or must this be purchased separately?

Also can anyone point me to some schematics - I'm curious as to how and at what angle the battery magazine is oriented - and is the memory card 'storage space' just that or is it in fact coupled directly into the system for continuous writing should the primary card fill up?

Nope, empty space for battery, extra SD card and remote, but just the empty space.

You have to buy the extra battery. Seems to be a cruel joke, but still I found I am very glad I got the grip for my camera.

SD card slot is simply a holder.
The battery lays down facing upwards with contacts towards the center of the camera body.

Hint: It's a much better price at SRS
I just love the K10D with the grip - it's even better designed than the *ist-D one.
(And I tried a Canon grip the other evening. Huueueurrureh! [Shudders] )

Yes, I know it is much cheaper at SRS. Even more so when bought with a body.

Although this is a Minolta thing, I have been told they work just fine in the K10. I got some third party ones myself, albeit not from 7Day shop, but from BH Video for GBP 10.00 each. Works like a charm

what is that, epoxy? fantastically hideous (must have a go myself - hell I've done this sort of thing for custom joysticks in virtual cockpits - cant be that different - though the lack of wheel, green button and shutter release, not to mention control chip cant be overlooked)

Just changed my DS for the K10D with Grip.
No battery supplied with grip ! You have to buy a spare which sits in the grip. Also space for a spare card.

In MENU there is an option to switch batteries or use AUTO which uses both batteries according to their levels.
The controls on the grip do not work unless the camera in switched on normally.
The book explains this but you still have to find out the hard way.!!
