Interesting replies, so far Picassa seems to be the fav amongst you all, Lightroom comes next but also costs, I do lean towards Lightroom - if funds were available would you say it would be the best choice over Picassa, I also use keywords always in all my images that I store for future hassle free hunts.

Thank you

I currently just use MS Picture Manager to flick through my images and organise them into folders etc.., then when editing use CS3 or Elements 5.

I am not that impressed with MS Picture Manager, it's just OK - how does everyone else organise their libraries, any recommnedations that isn't over complicated, is free or doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

Very nice shot. I'd agree with Lilly that the cropped version is better however I'd have been tempted to extend the crop further down e.g. go with pretty much all of the right half of the original shot.
Yes, I agree... that bit of extra greenery at the bottom wd frame it better, BTW I think the wire fencing gives it a nice soft focus effect!

very nice, but I wd have cropped left hand side out and had portrait format - I find the left handside distracting with part body and out of focus greenery bottom left, a handsome fellow...

Thanks, Prieni, your comments were all fair I think, and our toes should be ok !!!

Some nice photographs this week. I think everyone is upping their game, I was 'off' a bit the last two weeks, but I like the idea of shooting to a theme.

I actually had my picture, and was about to clean up, when I wondered what it would be like to move the eggs from the wooden chopping board to the plastic one the fire the flash through it, seemed to work ok.

This was going to be my entry before I saw the light . . . .

Anyway, I'll have a think about next weeks theme, and post later tonight
for what it's worth Galoot, I prefer this image too, more edgy!
Well done, Lilly

Lilly,

Do you envisage the finished image at the taking stage?

Ken
Ken, I would say 3/4 of the shots I take I have the 'third eye' that sees the finished image I want to portray, not in graphic detail though!
When I am developing the image I have a good idea what I want to see already, inspiration does though take me by surprise sometimes !

I get just as much buzz out of seeing that happen on the screen as I did when gazing into the developer tray!

Cheers, Lilly
