This sample is from a slide approx 30 years old!

This is a 35mm neg scanned in at 3200dpi

Reminds me to do more!

I am not exactly sure where to put this, competitions or here?
I have just recently signed up to photoSIG, a brilliant imformative and inspiring website.
I came across this link which gives some guidance on critiquing photographs, which is what the site is based on.
I thought it a very helpful guide and could be of help to those judging in our competitions:
macro shot gets 1 or 2 and i have wait 3 days to post another pic. But its all fun i guess.
Also the Lady administrator will let you know in no uncertain terms if you are submitting pics for critique and not pulling your weight by critiquing others
Hey Lilly i will make a pact with you, You critique all my pics and i will return the gesture in kind [/quote:25da402586]TBH I agree, I don't really think I am going to have the staying power to be as enthusiastic as the rest of them plus find it frustrating having to wait every 72 hrs...it does like like a lot of hard work and committment.
However, I do think looking at their work is very inspiring and some of it very high standard and if that motivates me - that's good.
I shall probably just end up visiting for inspiration in the end!
I am totally open to swapping critiques on our work if you are serious, as long as they're not all bugs...

It's interesting and contains a lot of good information, but, as with all things on the web, it's only one point of view.
In our competitions I wouldn't want to be so specific as we are doing very well with every winner bringing their own style to the judging.

Very nice indeed, I might be inclined to swap the outer two around.

I really like it, great shots.
The only thing I'd change is the sky in the central shot. Given that it's effectively framed by the arch I wouldn't think you can have such a moody sky as in the left picture as it would mean an overpoweringly grey shot, but the lack of any detail in the sky is a distraction for me. Looking at the photo, my eye is drawn to the area devoid of interest, rather than the area of great interest around it.
I don't know if it's possible to recover something from the sky in the centre picture, but just a little bit more would (in my opinion) be very beneficial.
Maybe it's just me, i don't know, but it's a great triptych as it is.
cheers Lilly

The middle one is more mysterious. Wish I could see it bigger.

I did apply the metadata info to the file at its RAW stage when I import from memory card.
I am aware of setting the preferences and I have discovered the only way I can edit this particular field of 'copyright status' is to:
File
Info
Description
and set copyright status to copyright instead of the default of 'unknown'
I can of course do this as a block change to a folder
but I think is real strange that I should have to do this in this extra way through File etc..
rather than like the rest of the editable fields that have a little pen beside them.
Seems it is just one of those things that Adobe have done for reasons best known to themselves.
Cheers anyway
