Not to be rude or spoil the party, as I normally like (love) your work Lilly. Specially your mono's. In this case I like the composition, but I dislike the Hideous Disastrous Result of this HDR treatment. The sky looks like a post nuclear winter scene to me, and something obviously went wrong with the branches. Sorry I just can't see the added value of this treatment on this particular scene.

Martin.
no HDR went near it Martin

These trees are very much part of our Cornish Coast landscape and I do love them so. A walk on Sunday from Perranuthnoe to Prussia Cove brought us to this duo.

It seems that there might be an eBay shop selling these, though I can't view eBay from work.
Found the Ebay you are referring to I think 'Aspenofhereford' but not listing a 2.7" so have sent them an email to see if they have one, will confirm.
I can recommend Aspen of Hereford as a supplier

Ken
Unfortunately, they have replied and they don't have one either, will try Bob's route!

I'd say close focusing.

now what type of macro work do you intend to to... butterflies etc (100mm), flowers, bugs, blooms? (50mm) gems, stones, jewlery? (35mm)

I'd say the 50mm would be a good choice for a portrait photographer that already has a fine protrait lens.
unless you'r shooting butterflies, hummingbirds or other skittish creatures that will bolt at the sight of you closing in with your camera.
Macro shooting for me would be definitely bugs, birds & blooms, so if I shelled out for a 100mm macro, it would give me the ability to get the whites of their eyes sharper, more so than with my 135mm?

is it my imagination or is the little guy in #2 proclaiming with some intent "I'm taking over the world!"
And #3 "You're kidding right? These are my parents?, Oh boy."

seriously...natural light? You are so brave...
I prefer flash, and f8-f16 for baby portraits. (ample dof, and no subject movement).
But I love these, very good work!
love your thought bubbles Don, spot on! Yes, I was brave and didn't know it, yep DOF was tricky and I lost a few because of that, but flash was more scary for me a virgin flash gal!

Now I know this will probably sound a bit naive but here goes anyway!
When looking at macro lenses you hear them say this can also be used as a superb portrait lens.
Well, I have a superb portrait lens the SMC FA 135mm 2.8, can this be compared in a similar way to a macro lens?
In other words what is it that say a 100m macro has that my 135mm does not (other then 35mm?)

Seems they are like hens teeth Lilly.
B&H in the US have them, but I'm not sure it is worth the hassle of trying to get it from them, unless you know someone in the US who can order it for you and will send it on.
I had a look on Dutch and German sites for you but couldn't find one here either. Every other size yes, but not that one .
Thanks Gwyn for trying, just hope this firm from Ebay comes through!

Thanks Mac, yes I like 1 & 4 best, it is stressful, just trying to get them all making the right faces at the same time, plus trying to get a different angle on it from the usual.
No, I don't want any more lines than I have already, so shall just regard this episode as a challenge and nothing more. But...then when that new lens starts calling, who knows!

Hi Lilly,

If it helps Pentax market protective foils for their cameras, but typically not in 2.7 size.

Fuiji Film do, and I had one of these fitted to my K20D before leaving. They come in packs of 3 I believe, I also fitted a UV filter to the lens so I was fully protected before leaving Park Cameras.

Hope this is of use,

Roscoe.
thanks but I really want a Giottos if I can get one
