A tip I read on another forum. Maybe already known to you, but if not, here http://www.fastpictureviewer.com/codecs/ you can download a free program that will allow you to see pictures, shot in RAW format, in Explorer as opposed to the icons that are usually displayed.

Great. Thank you, Kay! I saved the link straightaway - I love video tutorials. Fortunately those long winter evenings are coming up again and I'll definitely try this on one of them (but more likely long before that). Can't wait to have a go.

Thank you very much for all the testing and comparing. I've found a 16-45 and I'm going to buy it. It's second-hand, but hardly used - for testing purposes only. The person who's selling it, is someone I 'know' (through another forum) and trust, so I'm really happy with it. I should get it sometime next week.
