Thanks, Al en George. Al, I take it you're referring to the original picture? That's not a crop - what you see, is what there is. No more, no less.

I've never understood what bellows are or what they do. Can anybody explain in layman's terms, please? And is it a bellows or just (the) bellows?

Thanks and your explanation is interesting; it may well work that way. As for your example: I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, if it's my eyes that are going or just my laptop screen, but I can't see any difference between the two. Here's that example I mentioned:

I'm pretty sure it isn't (it isn't mine either as you know). No, it annoyed me to start with, that and the pictures, but it makes me laugh now (thanks for the link - hilarious! ).

Thanks everybody for your comments. It's been suggested before that I should get rid of the little triangular part in the foreground. I didn't seem to be able to crop it in a way that I liked enough, so I left it as it was. I may have another go at it at some stage though and use your suggestions. Thanks again.
@Davex: I actually meant to use a different frame; realized after posting here that I'd clicked the 'wrong' one. It's one of the frames that comes with a very useful (free) piece of software called Photoscape.

Thanks Peter and yes, I'd done a bit of searching too and most of Sananjana's contributions have the word 'dear' in and not much else. And Chris, you're right, the word 'dear' in particular annoyed me.
Darkmunk, can't blame you for liking S.'s last picture - wish I could go there to take one myself.

What filters are you looking for? I might be able to oblige with one or two.

That would be great, George! The only thing is: I don't know what to get yet. Have been thinking about a Cokin or Lee system so that I can use the filters on any lens, but then I don't even know whether I'll use them a lot, so it may be better to start with just 1 or 2. We spent a week on the coast a month ago and I took a lot of sunset pictures, some of which were ruined because of the sun's reflection on the sea. I'd need a polarizing filter for that I think? And I'd also like one to brighten up grey skies / enhance colours - or would that be a polarizing one as well?
If you think the ones you want to sell might be useful to me, please let me know. I'll start looking up the filter sizes of my favourite lenses.
