I quite like that picture, despite or maybe even thanks to the scaffolding. Fascinating stuff by the way - I wouldn't dare walk on it!

Thanks, Pauly and Pete! As to #4: you're absolutely right, Pete. To start with I should have held the camera in portrait position, which I didn't and yes, should have raised it a bit more as well. I'll try that next time I go there. Thanks again!

which I received yesterday. I'm very pleased with it and the extra 2 mm compared to the kit lens really do make a difference! I went out today and took some pictures. The weather was quite nice - beautiful skies, and quite a bit of sunshine. That actually also made it difficult to get good pictures (I really still have a lot to learn). Most pictures needed some touching up in PS as they were underexposed. Anyway, first try and I really like the lens. As soon as time and weather permit I'll try some buildings. Please let me know what you think. I appreciate any and all tips! Thanks!

Sorry to hear that, Kris! Still hoping you'll be able to repair it or - if that doesn't work - find a reasonably priced replacement.

Ow Jack! Can't help you, I'm afraid, but what awful thing to happen! Good thing you're still in one piece though and the lens as well I assume?

Thanks, Pauly! I like the b&w one even better now! You did a great job on that photo. Hope I'll be able to see and do that sort of thing one day.

Great picture! I love it! And yes, the little heads do look expectant and sort of longing. I'm sure the B&W version is by far the best, but I'd still like to see the colour one. Would you mind showing it here, Pauley?

Sounds like a very good reason to me! I lived in the south of France for a while (end seventies); shouldn't have come back - life is so different there. Anyway, you probably appreciate a bit of rain now, so enjoy!
