Hi Lidy, and congrats on the new lens.
The fourth picture interests me, but I think you could have done better by raising the camera and just have the strong geometric shapes in the frame with the blue sky adding contrast ?

Thanks, Pauly and Pete! As to #4: you're absolutely right, Pete. To start with I should have held the camera in portrait position, which I didn't and yes, should have raised it a bit more as well. I'll try that next time I go there. Thanks again!

Love number 2.
But maybe a couple of steps to the right might have been worth a shot too. I think numbers 3 and 5 would have worked much better if you had matched the symmetry of number 1 and centered yourself on the rows of trees.( middle of the wall and middle of the tarmac) Number 1 has a great sky but there is nothing else to hold my attention. Number 4, I think you should have explored those "windows" top left with the sky showing through them.
Nothing wrong with that lens though!
Oh, it's great being an armchair critic! Maybe I should shut up and get out and take some pictures.

I also like #2. But also #5, although I find the lamppost a bit disturbing. Nice set of pictures though - enjoy your new lens

@MarkD: there's nothing wrong with being an armchair critic. When I read your comments I thought a number of times: OMG, why didn't I think of that myself! Thinking back, I did try to go a bit more to the right when taking #2 but the position of the sun and its reflection in the water didn't really leave me much space to move around.
I meant to go out again today and take some more pics (I do like that lens), but unfortunately work commitments stopped me from doing so (most of my students have to take tests this week and next week and that involves lots of work ). Hope to catch up with all the other pics and posts over the weekend!
