Hi Folks

Having just had my K7(used) for one week now I discover that in Custom Image I have an option - REVERSAL, which the handbook and Magic Lantern Guides do not mention. Will this have been the result of an upgrade?
If anyone else out there has this option I'd like to know how they may have tweaked it to replicate Velvia

Cheers

Ron
Hi Ron,
your assumption is right - reversal mode is a part of later firmware. If I'm correct it is one of native modes they used in Pentax 645D.

Disaster struck at the weekend when I dropped my all time favourite portrait lens. Can anybody help me out with an excellent copy? I just joined the forum (although I’ve been looking at it for years) specifically to put this ad up!

Payment through paypal or bank transfer and delivery to London.
I’ve also got no idea how much these go for these days – any pointers gratefully received!

Thanks,
Marcus
these are very rare....i had mine for 199£

Hi,
I got my K-7 only recently so am still playing around with it. I've found that pictures tend to be a 'bit dark'; seems fixed if I set exposure compensation to +1 by default. Sorry but I have no examples at the moment...

Has anyone else experienced this?
Cheers,
Pa.
Hi, sorry that I'm bringing this matter to daylight again .....but how do you measure exposure? Did you use matrix metering or meter from a grey card? Could it be a human factor involved?

Hi I've recently acquired K-7 to replace my K20d. Not really a huge upgrade, as both cameras are great, but more compact size of K-7, better AF performance and most-of-all much quiet shutter were reasons for me.
While I got used to K-7's ergonomy pretty quickly i used to like some hidden tricks of k20d which made shooting more easy and responsive.
For example for rapid changing ISO pressing OK button and rolling the wheel was more comfortable for me than using dedicated ISO button on K-7.

So do you know any such tricks for K-7 or are there none?

can't compare with 60-250, but here are some pluses of 50-135 that are relevant for me:
- 2.8
- internal focusing and internal zooming - the lens doesn't extend when zooming
- relatively compact and lightweight

More wide you go - more corrections the optic designers have to make in the lensmaking process - therefore you'll never see the UWA performing like more conventional lenses like 24, 28 or 35mm in terms of IQ. My widest is Pentax 20mm which is very good, but if I need ultimate IQ i go for 31mm.
Tamron SP 17mm is performing very weak on digital, i had it and sold it very quickly....even da16-45 at 16mm was better.

Here are some images I took yesterday with the K Series 35mm f3.5. I think they nicely demonstrate the capabilities of this lens (although they were handheld and I could get them a bit sharper). I might make them into a triptych when I work out how.

The lens cost me £30 odd. One recently went on here for £75, which is probably a fair market value.

I find this lens absolutely excels in many ways, sharpness, colour reproduction, lack of CA.

My question: Is the K35mmf3.5 the best value Pentax lens in the catalogue?
I would say that you were very lucky 1.) to find this lens for sale and 2.)to get it for 30£
