Hi Marcus (and Welcome) - I think the last one of these I saw on E-bay went for around £265! There was a discussion on this forum about the price of this lens just a few weeks ago https://www.pentaxuser.com/forum/topic/pentax-a-100-mm-29523 - whether it was overpriced or not.
I do have a one of these (paid too much for it quite recently), but it's one of those lenses that I think I'll hang on to - until I can find an FA* 85 1.4 at least
Regards
John

I don't think I'm helping here, but worth a shot me thinks:
Have you tried out the Samyang 85 1.4? Faster although shorter, but you can buy new and it will cost cheaper, and will have warranty. The Pentax versions I believe have the "A" setting.

Disaster struck at the weekend when I dropped my all time favourite portrait lens. Can anybody help me out with an excellent copy? I just joined the forum (although I’ve been looking at it for years) specifically to put this ad up!
Payment through paypal or bank transfer and delivery to London.
I’ve also got no idea how much these go for these days – any pointers gratefully received!
Thanks,
Marcus
these are very rare....i had mine for 199£

Are you talking about the non-Macro version?
If so, I can't add much.
If it is the macro version then these seem hard to come by and don't seem to come up for sale very often.

Here's a link to the ebay sale (£262) - link
I've actually got one of these (which is not for sale unfortunately) and whilst it's a lovely lens I'm not sure I'd pay £262 for a replacement if I dropped mine.
If you don't mind the (much cheaper) M version, you might want to have a look at ffordes who have got a couple in stock.
Good luck,
Mark

Hi Marcus,
Just found your ad by accident. I'm considering selling my A100/2.8 macro.
Would that be an option? It's banned to the back of my lens closet since I've found the A*200/4 Macro a few months ago.
If you're looking for a non-macro version, I could ask a friend of mine, but I'm fairy sure he'll want to keep it. Nice anonymous short tele!

Thanks for your help guys.
Really I was after the non-macro version (on the basis that I wouldn't be able to afford the macro one), although I see that it's not cheap either!
I've been offered a good copy which I originally thought was pricey, but having seen what they're going for on ebay it doesn't seem too bad an deal now. So I'm going to go for that one to help me get over my loss.
Thanks to all,
Marcus
