Ken, I've still got one of these too left over from my LX days, (no you can't have it, cos now I know it works), I just need to get the new hotshoe cable and steal Quantum pack like you.
Quantum pack looks like from picture pluging into tripod screw hole , where does the that end really go? some special plug thingy under there?
You use full manual here, cos my K10D needs some fancy form of PTTL not TTL (not off the film plane LX style), like the old days (idiot proof) well it always worked well for me.
