Mmm - to be on the safe side I think I'll use DNG.

Hi Richard - I've checked and I already have version 1.3 so looks as though if I do purchase the Sigma 150-500 there should be no problems.

Thanks

John

Thanks Guys - I'll get stuck in and see what happens.

I've just increased my RAM from 1Gb to 2GB. I now have to uninstall Elements 3 and load Elements 7.

Thanks again for help and advice

Cheers John

I have a K10D and have never used RAW. However for the first time yesterday I took about 80 photos using RAW (DNG) plus JPG.

I have just purchased Elements 7 and will have to work out how to process the RAW photos - anyone know a good book for a 'RAW' beginner?

Now for what may be a daft question.

When I look on the camera screen at the photo I have taken do I see the RAW image or the JPG image??

I too went to the 'show' and was disappointed that there was so little about Pentax. Hope for better next year.

I too looked at the Sigma 150-500 but they didn't have one with a Pentax fit. I had to try one with a Canon Camera!!!

I heard that with the K10D using the Sigma 150-500 you have to download additional software/firmware - anyone know anything about this??

I did purchase a sensor cleaner, blower and loupe from Lenspen and watched exactly how to do it on my camera (I had a few spots on the sensor). It's worked well

I have a K10D with an 18-250 lens. I recently used it at dawn in Scotland when the temperature was -10c. All worked OK but I had a fully charged battery and when not using the camera put the battery in my trouser pocket to keep it warm. A non Pentax battery I use as a spare really struggled in the cold. (I've learnt a lesson there!)

So it could be a battery problem with your K20D.

Hi
I've read the instructions and they seem clear except
1. I have Version 1.0 in my K10D
2. It says I should already have V1.0 through V2.0 to be able to download V3.0
3 Where do I find V1.0, V1.11 and V2.0 to download - can't find them!!
4. Does it matter - can I just load V3.0 and it will automatically load the aformentioned updates

Hope someone out there understands my quandry.

Cheers

John

Hi
Thanks to everyone who has responded to my question on 'Cleaning the CCD' There is plenty of information for me to digest and I will be looking into some of the products/methods suggested.
I would be very interested to hear from golfdiesel after he has visited the cleaning workshop.
Thanks again to you all.
