Help!!!

I've recently replaced my 7 year old computer. I used Irfanview to view my RAW images (PEF).
I've downloaded the program onto my new computer plus the most up to date plug-ins but I cannot find the file extension PEF. Irfanview was fine on the old computer and I could view my PEF files.
Anyone any idea where I am going wrong?? How do I find the PEF file extension?

Useful information. I have been scouring the web for a spare K7 battery and there are some that are not Pentax makes but are, I suppose, compatibles.
The prices of some of them seem extremely cheap compared with the Pentax battery - well under £20 - does anyone have any experience of these cheap compatibles?
Are they worth buying or will they discharge quickly or possibly not be good in cold weather?

Some time ago I lost the lens hood (62mm) for my 18-250 lens - it was a 'snap' fit rather than screw fit. I've obtained a screw fit hood but I don't like it and I do get some vignetting around the wide angle area of the lens which I didn't get with the hood supplied with the lens.

I've searched the internet including eBay but can find none in the UK but there seems to one or two available in the USA at $63!!!

Can anyone help me locate one (Pentax UK can't get one) - the manufacturer's code is PH-RBB 62mm.

I could be interested too - but what would your lights be like?? I only have the built in flash on my camera. Would I need flashgun?
