There's so much to take in now on a DSLR and I'm sure most of us don't use half of the available adjustments and settings!!!

Microsoft Image Composite Editor seems to need JPGs so I guess I'll still have to convert DNG or PEF to JPGs before I can create a Panoramic photo.
Wish I knew why Photomerge Panoramic has stopped working in Elements 7 - as suggested I will have a go at uninstalling/reinstalling it.

It comes down to need or want - I want one!!!
Firstly so I can see the PEF thumbnail pictures in explorer (I find it useful) and secondly I use Microsoft Image Composite Editor to create panoramics which needs the 64 bit PEF codec. So I firstly have to convert the PEF files to JPG using Elements 7 and I can then drag/drop the JPGs into the Image Composite Editor. It would be far easier just to drag/drop the PEFs.
And....I know I can use Photomerge in Elements to create panoramics but for some reason it suddenly stopped working - all other aspects of Elements 7 work. I get the usual 'Windows has encountered a problem and will have to close the program' message. This happened suddenly on both my desktop and laptop and the only changes are the usual Windows updates and my Norton 360 software upgraded to Version 5.
So apart from the codec query - does anyone have any idea why photomerge panoramic in Elements7 stopped working?
My operating system is Windows 7 64 bit.

This may sound daft but is it anything to do with the angle you view your monitor - especially on a laptop? Depending whether the monitor is at a sloping forward or sloping backward angle the picture lightens/darkens. Or at least that's my experience. So when editing a photo it could be important, from a brightness point of view, what angle you are viewing the photo. Is there a correct angle for viewing so that you get the correct print?
As I said it sounds a bit daft - but I've often pondered about this - nows my opportunity to ask. Any advice/help would be appreciated.
