Playback on Kr

Bought Pentax Kr recently, and am very happy with it.

But have one query. Playback seems to be put in a new folder each day.

Is there any way of keeping all taken photos in one folder? Have not heard this discussed before. Am I missing something?

Assuming you are referring to the 'by date' folders that are created on your memory card by the camera? And thereafter all of your images are stored by date in these separate folders...

I have a K-x, which is not dissimilar to many aspects of the Kr, I believe.

Your user manual should have a section for 'Setting the Folder Name / File Number Convention', that section may be in or around Chapter Nine. It's only one page - check it out.

I take your point and have checked in the handbook. I don't mind folders being kept in date order, but a new experience for me. It was not on the DL2, but I presume it is now on the more up to date models.
Thank you for your help.

If you want to change it so that all of your images end up in the one folder, then upload all of your SD card's contents to a computer first, then format your card while it is in the camera.

Then, immediately change the folder / file options as per your manual.

I only have one folder on my cameras, it's just a matter of setting the preference you prefer and instead of Date use 100PNTX as your option.
Best regards, John

I too was getting date folders on my K5 - I've changed the folder preference as suggested - thanks for the tip John.
There's so much to take in now on a DSLR and I'm sure most of us don't use half of the available adjustments and settings!!!

Cheers....John

Thank you, John. I have set my camera to 100PNTX. Will see how it goes.

Yes! Changing the setting to 100PNTX has done the trick. Am now a happy man, and enjoying the fine features of the Kr. Thank you, John.
