Hello all,

I was unsure which version of a photo to choose for my latest gallery post (the one featuring the 5U3C tube here.

So, I thought it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on which of the other photos you prefer.

All were taken with a Pentax K10D and the SMC-A 50mm f/1.2.

K10d for me
Myself also as it comes closest to the Carl Zeiss lens on the D3
I would like to see that Zeiss lens on the K1 if thats possible.
It's a good idea, and it should be doable with a Nikon F mount to Pentax KAF mount, but it would mean, I think, 100% manual operation + I'm not sure if the quality will be as with the native mount.

It would have been nice if Zeiss had produced the Milvus series with Pentax mount (in addition to Nikon & Canon mount).

If someone has any experiences (with convertors either way), I'd love to hear about them

Amazing photos! The two last ones remind me of the Balrog scene from Lord of the Rings.

Hello all,

Inspired by some of John Riley's excellent write-ups and comparisons of different lenses, I tried photographing the same object, Goldring cartridge (first photo here), with an *ist DS, a 10D, a Nikon D3 & K1.

It didn't turned out as structured as I had planned, with different focal lengths used and different levels of light over three days. But thought I'd share anyways.

Temperatures down to -18 degrees here north of Copenhagen during the night.

Light snowfall during the day - intensifying during the afternoon.

Do you mean the additional dioptre adjusting eyepiece that clips onto the camera's eyepiece?

I used a +3 on my ME Super which doesn't have adjustment built into the camera. I don't know if this would fit on your camera
.

Good question. I guess both the dioptre and the eyepiece itself - anything that could enhance the the focusing precision.

Got inspired by this comment:

"Don't forget that there are extra eyepieces available (sometimes - e.g. on ebay) to correct the view even more -- I have one on my K5" by davidwozhere.

But everything's got a lot better after finding the slider below the rubber
