As some of you have noticed, I'm impressed with what the K10D can do.
So I read up on the history of Pentax' early DSLRs, and decided to get an istD too and after seenig in the gallery what that camera can do.
I hadn't noticed that there are different versions.
I got the istD S - but retrospectively should have gotten a the istD, I think.
This leads to my question: Do the istD and istD s use the same sensor (and in the same implemetation)?
And is the build quality between the two different? the istD looks very similar to the D10.
I'll receive the the istD S tomorrow or the day after.
Thanks again,
Kasper

Yes I have, good stuff, one of the reasons I haven't been posting any in there, they're beyond my level
There's a lot of great stuff!

I got the 1.2 50mm lens last week, so my experience is limited. But what I'm getting straight out of the Pentax K1 (mine is a mark I) looks very good.
I also got the 77mm 1.8 and macro, these work well too.
I've been wanting to do some structured comparisons up against older cameras, but haven't found the time / energy / final motivation yet.

Nice set.
Have you some dust on your sensor? Just below centre on right when in portait mode
Tried the dust removal _before_ checking visually, should have done the opposite.
I don't see any dust now, but there might be some left. Will try and take some photos during the weekend.
Thanks again

Last week a did a walk on a 3 kilometer stretch at a waterfront area of Copenhagen with a Pentax K10D in my hand.
It was misty, and first I mistook the sun behind the muted clouds to be a moon.
In no particular order, though some photos illustrate moving closer to specific buildings.

The two prior series are here:

Colours - A Pentax K10D Series
I think the Palm House series is the best - it strikes me as more cohesive.
& a nice weekend to everyone. It's been inspiring to join the community on this site

Agreed these are great colours, moody which I love rather than saturated, very nice

A fair share of the reviews are of old lenses mounted on a K1.
A thing to consider is whether the lens 'communicates' with the camera, so that aperture mode and others work.
As far as I understand, and I could be wrong, lenses that have an 'A' in their name should work.
Non-A's would require doing all settings manually (I think).
For example, for me the 1.2 50mm SMC-A works in all modes, but focus is manual only.
The A versions are more expensive.
