Well done, Barrie, you had nothing to fear at all! I often look at what people post and ask myself "Would I be pleased to have taken that photo?" I'd say "Yes" to all of yours!

These are just superb! For a comparative novice there's so much to be learned about technique by studying the exif data of this set that it's like a free course in water photography! Thanks, Bill, for sharing these - as Carl says, they inspire you to take a new look at a familiar location.

I've really enjoyed all of these, Carl. Each one has something special that makes me want to look at it again, be it composition, colour, subject, effect, whatever. My favourite, just, is Staithes Cottages, because it's a lovely illustration of a very ordinary scene where the whole seems to me to be greater than the sum of all the component parts. I'd happily have that framed on my wall!

Lovely, Nigel! This is the kind of thing I keep trying to do with not much success so far, so I'm very impressed. The only one I'm not sure about is no. 5 - I find the out-of-focus right-hand side very distracting, but all the others are superb, especially since, as David says, they are so different from your usual style.

Up in the north-east last week walking. Managed to get up Wednesday for the sunrise at Dunstanburgh and was lucky enough to catch a spectacular 10-15 minutes. All taken with K-3 and 18-135mm. Hope you like them!

Been away this week and just seen these, Carl. The Brimham Rocks images are superb! They have a surreal quality which seems perfectly suited to the subject.
Lovely!

Some early morning shots before the weather clouded over. No deer rutting, but some lovely backdrops, I hope you'll agree.

It was good to meet you, Barrie - you clearly have more stamina than me to make through to the evening! But I wish I had stayed - your no. 11 is really nice, makes my daytime ones look quite ordinary. Well done!

Was surprised to see Abbey shots from you - expected to see Stags.

Don't worry, Carl, plenty of stags to come. Thought the daytime abbey shots might avoid duplicating anything you or Barrie may want to post. Looking forward to some night time shots from you!
