For me, the midday sun shines strongly, almost blindingly, in all of these. I do like the way you seek out the angles and viewpoints that most would not notice in much of your photography. That's present here too, and I don't mind the lack of colour, though I don't know if you intended that to emphasise the strength of the sunlight!

Robin Hood's Bay, North Yorkshire coast, mid-October, the first of a number of dramatic skies we were up in time to see! K-1 and DFA 28-105. Hope you like these!

A walk round a local reservoir last week was a bit too late to catch the really stunning autumn colours, but the retaining wall, covered in moss, was full of interest. K-1 and DFA 28-105.

A pleasure to look at! Each one has its own merits, from the sepia treatment of No.1, the shadowy horizons of No.2, the understated colours of the pebbles etc etc and all off them, for me, eye-catching and interesting.

Not my usual style, but I would appreciate thoughts/advice on this set, taken in a local park where there are still some flowers in decent health. Not macro shots, but first attempts to get to grips with DoF at different apertures/distances etc. Quite challenging, I thought, particularly as the wind kept gusting and blowing things around. All taken with tripod, K-1 and Sigma 70mm.

Thanks, all, for your comments. 6 was the one I almost didn't post as I wasn't sure about the comparative lack of contrast, so I'm pleased it found some approval! I did feel that the contrast in most of the others was sufficient without being over the top, but tastes differ. The autumn leaves don't show a huge amount of contrast anyway, and the watery background was just that - watery. More to follow on the water front!

From an afternoon wander on Thursday, the first decent day for ages, it seemed. Mainly autumn leaves catching the sunlight in this group, with the water flowing in the background. All comments welcome. Taken with K-1 and first time out with Sigma 70-300mm.
