I agree that the horizontal version appears to have greater depth, making it more attractive to me too. Also agree that the texture is displayed better in the vertical version. However, surely this is the result of an apparently more "close up" view, since the horizontal image is physically bigger than the vertical, even if it is the same image, rotated.

A dusting of snow in the Colne Valley a fortnight ago. It lasted about half a day, but during that time was quite attractive, I thought. Since the snow leached out most of the colour for a while, I thought it was worth going the whole hog to mono on a couple and would be interested to hear opinions on the success or otherwise of that idea! Only one posted here but a couple of others which are just variations on the same theme.

Thanks, Steve. That’s exactly the reason I keep going back to that area. The light is always different and, when the sun is low in the sky at this time of year, it can be really magical.

Very appealing, Barrie, especially the impact of the Iconic bridge.

... for revisiting one of my favourite local spots. This was the last day of 2019, another day of sunshine and fog, both, for me, lovely to see in their own way. When faraway locations are in dreamland, I'm always happy to potter about here with a camera. Hope these appeal! All K-1 with DFA 28-105. Thanks for looking!

One of my favourite stretches of UK coast. I'd be pretty pleased to have a couple of photos of this calibre, never mind a full set like these!

I like the portraits of the two boys particularly. Classic taxi photo - and none the worse for that!

The Colne Valley around Marsden, West Yorkshire. One of my favourite local walking areas. One side of the valley covered in mist, the other in bright sunlight. Hope you enjoy these! All comments welcome. K-1 + FA 25-108mm

The blog is a really interesting read, accompanied by some superb photography - I'd recommend anyone to spend a few minutes to take a look.

Thanks Martin for sharing
Totally agree. The photography is in a league of its own. I have daytime photos of the Roques de Garcia which I was pretty pleased with at the time, but the night-time ones are truly fabulous.
