Re-posted 3,4 and 5 at a larger size. Wasn’t sure if first 2 would be disallowed as too big, but seem to have come through ok.

Thanks for your comments - very interesting.
Gareth, I know what you mean about “shades” in the distance and I’m pleased you make that point as it’s just what I try to capture with images like these. I’m not so sure about cropping out the sky in 7 though - I think the short section of road winding up to the tiny buildings on the skyline helps emphasise the depth from top to bottom. I suspect that’s Philip’s point, too.

Paul, I’m glad you see 10 the way I wanted. I wondered if the lambs might be a bit naff but they do bring something to the foreground, don’t they.

Thanks, all, for your comments.

Peter, I couldn’t agree more. Life without nearby countryside or a garden would be so much more difficult.

Philip, there was something about these two trees that caught my eye - I think it was the intricate detail of all the not-quite-bare branches and twigs against the sky that made me want to focus on that and nothing to distract from it.

Gareth, I often look at your posts and think exactly the same way about being close to the coast!

Another morning walk I hadn't done for ages. A bit hazy, but I preferred to leave it that way rather than try to process it out. I've chosen these mostly to illustrate the way land lies in our area - up and down as far as the eye can see. All with K-1 and DFA 28-105. Please feel free to comment. Hope you like them!

I should everyone who sees these will be looking at old logs in a new way - I know I will! A superb illustration of what you can see if you only look!

From the same walk as my last post, but the more open aspects of it. Just to show the variety of surroundings thankfully available to locals all year round. K-70 + DA* 50-135. All comments welcome!

Very nice. The light in no 6 is just right and I really like the pastel shades. No. 10 appeals too, if only for that superb sky!

Very nice. I like the blossom. Lovely backdrop, lovely light, spot-on focus and depth of field. I haven't been able to get a decent blossom shot yet as it's been so windy whenever I've been out.

Thank you all for your comments.

Steve, you are completely right, of course, to say that there's always something different each time you do the same walk. I've done this particular walk loads of times over the years and there's one old hollow tree trunk that has been a favourite nesting spot for great spotted woodpeckers. Guess what, after all the winds and rain this winter, only the bottom 6 feet or so of that trunk is still upright. I can still hear the birds drumming, but haven't been able to locate a nest yet this year.

David, these are the first bluebells I've seen in the local area this year. Just happened to catch them in the right light at the right time.

John, again, the timing was right (and lucky!) to catch the trees just as the sun was shining through and making the moss on the trunks glisten.

Philip, I tend to go with you - there's something about newly opened leaf buds and fresh leaves that really appeals to me, especially if you can catch them with a bit of sunlight (and I was lucky there, too!)
