Inspired by MrB I dusted off my un-wanted brass-edged black MX-1 (it does look cool) and it accompanied me on a little stroll this evening.

A bit of PP on a few of these, softening, B&W, warming, etc.

I hope you are now thinking that it's worth keeping?!

Great little set. It's hard to tell this came from a compact so you've obviously got a good eye for a shot.

4,5 and 8 are superb.

These are really nice. I really like the color this camera produces.

Very nice. The light in no 6 is just right and I really like the pastel shades. No. 10 appeals too, if only for that superb sky!

Thanks for the comments - this camera is so capable of producing great results, particularly considering that it was introduced 7 years ago, that it is easy to see why it fetches such high prices second hand on Ebay!

Sorry Philip but I won't be holding onto mine - for one reason, I can't get on with using the screen - it just doesn't suit me Most of these shots were basic compositions with very little vision or skill used at the taking stage because I can't make out the detail well enough - the camera is so good that I could create half decent images in post processing

As a slight aside, here's how cool this little beauty looks.....

I got myself a silver one because of your thread a month or two ago. I was surprised at the size and feel compared to the Q-S1. It's got a bit of heft about it which the Q line don't. The lens it has is superb though, such a great usable range.

I could be tempted by yours :L
Black looks very good.

A lovely set of images, I'm always amazed by what this little camera can produce in the hands of someone that knows what they are doing! Having said that, I've just sold mine, just didn't use it enough, found it hard to get on with having no viewfinder.

With your experience, I'm sure you will have tried everything. Nevertheless I'll just mention that, for many shots, I have the camera above waist height, close to my (too large!) tummy, and look down at the tilted-up screen - rather like using a TLR. This helps to shield the screen from daylight to give a much clearer view.

Cheers.
