We had booked to go to Harlow Carr last Thursday when it was really hot - our first outing since lockdown started. Having seen the excellent post by psburnley before we went, I took the camera for my own amusement. However, the lushness of the greenery and the striking colour of the candelabra primulas in particular made me want to take a broader view, so I hope these are sufficiently different from the earlier post as not to be mere repetition. The combination of light and shade is particularly what I wanted to capture. All taken with K-1 and D-FA 28-105. Please feel free to comment!

Thanks, all, 3 to 5 obviously opportunist shots which came out reasonably well given the constant movement of the subject.

Steve, I tend to agree with your cropping suggestion - the top third of the image doesn't really contribute a great deal as no5 probably illustrates.

Cheers!

This is a superb set of flower photos - perfect sharpness and just the right amount of depth of field. Very accomplished

Garden photo time again, with an attempt to capture Jacob's Ladder into the light - and a visitor appeared! Don't usually go for insects, but this obliging fellow forced my hand! Hoverfly, I think. K-1 + Sigma 70mm.

Yesterday was the first time this year I've come across mown fields that had not already been wrapped up in shiny black plastic by the time I went past. Too good an opportunity to miss! K-1 + DFA 28-105

Lovely tones in all four - super background. I like no. 4 best for the more interesting view of the crop - wheat or barley? I can never remember the difference. The ladybird is superbly captured in the others though - very well spotted (!) and captured. And I think there's just a hint of the coming starburst in no. 1 as well. I see no reason at all to paint it out!

Thanks, Serge, not the rarest of blossoms by any stretch, but lovely soft light too good to miss.
