Managed a three day trip to the Lake District a couple of weeks ago. It was really hard work walking in the heat, even at altitude. Here's a 3-shot panorama, looking across Derwentwater from Walla Crag, hand-held with K-70 and Sigma 17-70mm and stitched together in Affinity Photo. Still working on the rest, so more to follow in due course!

Can't resist skies "with character"! Three of my recent ones:
1. Sunrise off the Yorkshire coast

and two local ones on the same walk

Thank you, Peter. As a “long arm” shot, it’s very impressive. It looks as if it was taken from quite a distance above the table, nonetheless. I’d guess your dogs thought it was a weird new game!

I’d go along with everything said above, but I’m intrigued by the viewpoint of the first one. It’s obviously what makes the shot so effective, but I can’t work out how you got the shot - is there a Pentax drone I don’t know about?

Thanks for such interesting comments, particularly about the wider views. I wonder if they would have been received differently if not followed in the same post by such attractive close-ups. (That's not a boast about my photography, merely my feeling about the lovely plants!)

At the same time, I accept the comments about the wider views completely. I do agree with Steve (Lubbyman), though anyone who has never been to Harlow Carr could not share his comment about the wider views; and with John (Lennybloke). It does seem to have become almost compulsory to select favourites. I think sometimes we may shy away from constructive criticism for fear of offending; selecting favourites, I suppose, gets round this quite niftily.

Thanks, all. My wife was both surprised and pleased to get a mention!

Nicely done - by you for the photos and by your wife for the garden .

Is that really flowers among the gooseberries - all that grows among mine is bindweed .

Steve
Yes, Steve, the flowers and gooseberries are indeed in the same bed, though the gooseberries do tend to take up quite a lot of space

There was a special royal Jubilee event which meant that the place was pretty busy, but also in tiptop condition. Here's a (rather large) selection of the photos I took.
Wider views first, then close-ups. All with K-1 + FA 28-105. Please feel free to comment if you make it through to the end!
