Hi all

I've had my K-X for almost 2 years and have mostly been pleased that I took the leap from a bridge camera (dust issues aside)

I bought the K-X with the 18-55 & 50-200 DAL lens - I have just started to consider upgrading the 18-55 - ideally i'd like something a little wider and that would be an improvement over the basic lens.

Unfortunately money is very short but I have seen the Samsung 16-45 at £150 and this would seem ideal. Would it be an improvement over the 18-55 lens ?

I have also seen the 16-45 2nd hand for £140 and they offered £15 for my 18-55 - would i be better of going for the new lens ?

I just want a good quality filter without paying the earth !

For me the k-x i bought was the only budget SLR that ticked all the boxes

i.e small and light, built in stabilisation, live view (although I don't use it now, coming from a compact I thought it was important) and the really good reviews it had - I got it for a very good price too.

I also disliked the snobbery of Canon and Nikon owners and just didn't want to get into that - seems a bit tedious.

Don't regret my decision either - the k-x has been a fantastic first SLR and the kit lenses are really very good.

As I haven't bought any other lenses it wouldn't be a disaster if I changed to Nikon or Canon but I don't think I will..

thanks folks - what worried be was the negative comments stating that the Hoya filters weren't genuine..

Recently got back from Cornwall - the weather was terrible but on the rare occasions that the sun shone I took some pleasing shots - still an absolute beginner experimenting with Aperture so don't be too harsh !
