I love my screw ins, no going back now, fits all the Ltd's and the holders built in!
I had a HI-Tech (Formatt) System and found it unworkable/PITA
Thanks Jules

I assume your screw ins are soft grads? It's not totally clear from the Hilton website....
https://www.schneideroptics.com/filters/filter_search_bw.aspx

The one stop isn't very harsh at all and you can pretty much get away with putting the Horizon anywhere, the two stop is much more dramatic and they advise putting the Horizon in the centre if you can, I have so far followed this an have had no problems...

Thanks Matt I will look out for that as soon as I can take my Camera out again and have some Play time with the new Lens, and when I have a Bag to put it in

My only ultra wide is the 10-17mm fisheye. I think the IQ drops off quite badly as it goes towards the corner, and this is more significant when the fisheye distortion is stronger.
I've been experimenting with it trying to point it slightly heading down or up when shooting, as the distortion follows a bit of the natural curvature of the earth and lining the horizon at different angles seems to have different effects.

For it being defished, I've posted an example here using a LR 3.4 lens profile (pre set by adobe )

This is the most impressive one I've seen/done, others aren't as good towards the corners but still just about acceptable considering how distorted it was before editing.
Thanks Chaude, I actually think that De-Fished shot is quite impressive, suprised you managed to keep any of the Railing in there at all! Short end or erm longer end???

There is no way I would pay a private seller that amount of money without being able to pick up the item in person.

That is the reason I didnt go for the 250-600mm Danny purchased, never mind going to Denmark

As for the comment about Pentax not doing long glass .. no, they still don't but when I do decide to spend that sort of money I doubt it will be with Pentax anyway.

I have not been able to use my camera backpack since I purchased a hiking backpack with a rigid airflow mesh like the diagram below:

The reason I bought the LowePro Rover was that it has a completely sealed compartment for the camera equipment but it is hot, heavy and uncomfortable. I tend to just stick the K10D with a DA* lens round my neck and not worry about anything extra.
Hi Tyr
I have two Hiking Backpacks with a Similar System including a Berghaus Bioflex one, which moves with you as you walk coupled with the Airmesh backsystem it's supremely comfortable, theres nothing like it available to Photgraphers over here but in the States they have F Stop and Click Elite (Don't think there current Packs have Airmesh but theyr'e on it!)to name but two, often thought of starting a Firm making inserts to go in the two comparment Rucksacs offered by the Hiking/Climbing Fraternity...

Ok Peeps, Never been good with really wide wides (Hence one reason for originally selling the 12-24 for a 15 Ltd) but I want to Learn, just aquired the Above Lens and would like hints and tips as to get the best from it. I have trouble getting enough foreground intrest in shots taken with wide wides so I'm on a steep learning curve, also whats it like De-Fished?

I've the Bumblebee-222 UL and i'm wondering with what pens i would fill the spare space since i can't fill it with what i've.
I'm quite sure you should be able to fit everything you've in it though so find your comment about not enough room a bit strange...

The DA*300 will fit on the right side laid down (i doubt you will find a bag that will fit that lens upright), the camera in the middle with a lens. The DA*50-135 will fit in the pouch, and well i at least will throw the LTD lenses together in one of the space in the pouch and the 10-17 would fit in the last available space in the pouch.
You probably will still have room to carry one more lens or a flash that way (2 maybe 3 flashes if you stack them).
Hi Stefan, my Bumblebee was the DL 210 which is a good bit smaller, I like the look of the 222UL, However budget has to come into play somewhere and I have a budget of around 250 quid, with that I want a Backpack and a small quality shoulder/Messenger to carry just the body and Ltd's. At 300 quid the 222UL is not out of reach but getting beyond what I am prepared to pay for a single bag. Apologies for not mentioning budget, I bet it's very good though Stefan...

There are essentially two issues here. Firstly, would you prefer to faff around in the field or faff around in front of your computer? Secondly, do you also shoot film?

K.
Yes - I was starting to appreciate this! I used to shoot film - but not at the moment and no plans. My instincts are to faff in the field, but I'm also getting to know LR3 so maybe need spend some time improving my PP skills before deciding which flavour I really am.

Sounds like the old 'fix a filter on using rubber bands round the camera' thing of yore. I'm quite tempted to give this a go (sounds potentially more flexible than Jules' B&W screw in grads.. although these are also interesting!). [I know this contradicts my last comment ]

Did your 0.9 ND grad come from the Hitech ssytem as well?

Yes because you can reverse mount the holder so it will only hold a single filter.
This should link you directly to the page of the z-pro.

Recommended for focal lengths from 20mm onwards (35mm format)
so... with the 1.5 conversion it means it should be okay with ~13mm

I don't think you can fit it on the DA15 though because the hood doesn't redraw fully...

ps. the z-pro filters surely aren't the best there is, there is still a slight magenta cast but it's less then with the A and P serries.
I believe Matt also has these filters.
For the Lenses you've got and I'm thinking of the 21mm here try em out before you buy!
